Lillian Alling was a remarkable woman and intrigued me from the first moment I read about her. Did she really walk from New York to Alaska via Canada and eventually end up in Russia? I decided to look into it a bit more and started reading everything I could about her. The more I read, the more I wanted to know... and I figured other people may be interested as well...hence this website. I am still researching her trek, and am very grateful of all the people who have been so generous with information, advice and assistance. I am hoping to have the first draft of the book done by the end of 2009, and will be periodically updating the site with information as I find it.
